There are two ways of thinking about life and death. The Little Black Book, Six-minute meditations on the Passion according to John puts it this way:
"One is to picture myself walking down a hill, gradually headed for the bottom where death awaits us. Another is to picture myself like a child in a mother's womb, moving gradually towards birth into a new and wider life." (2007, Diocese of Saginaw)
